Barrenness

Love Bug with newest niece

Since God used barrenness to show His glory in reproduction of life and to fulfill His promises, how does He use barrenness today in one’s life in the spiritual sense (not necessarily literal barrenness in women)? If He has used it to show His glory, would you share that story?

Our sermon yesterday was from Genesis 12-50 and focused on how God made and fulfilled His promises then, during Christ and will continue to do so. barrenness and inability to produce new life was a focus but He used that to show He was the giver of Life and fulfiller of the promises He made. His purpose is to fill the earth with His glory! (Calvary Church; take a listen.)

We are surrounded by barrenness of the soul.  Maybe felt it even as a believer just as the women in those chapters from Genesis did who were included in the covenant promises.  There was physical barrenness that when life came forth only God could be credited!

When there is spiritual birth and the barrenness of no life is removed, only God can be credited.

His glory will not be denied!

“Pardon, I pray, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Your lovingkindness, just as You also have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.” So the Lord said, “I have pardoned them according to your word; but indeed, as I live, all the earth will be  filled with the glory of the Lord.”                 Numbers 14:19-21

Blessings, Linda

About chinamom3078

I am a woman who loves Jesus who loved me first. Prone to wander and distraction is common for me as I seek to reflect Him in my daily life. I am wife, mom, and grandma who has lived on 3 continents in 26+ apartments, townhouses, military housing, suburbs and now a 200 plus year old farm house. Preparing and hosting meals for the hundreds who have passsed through our home has been a joy and blessing to our family as we listened and shared over meals, coffee, light nights and Bible studies. A rich life! I have reached the age to feel qualifies to be an ”older woman” (as in Titus) even though I feel far from old and have plenty of room to grow each and everyday. And my joy is to teach Bible studies and help train other women to lead well.
