On the Fly!

My menu…done on the fly!

We still have a refugee family with us for a few more weeks.  Love Bug is feeling the stretch and beginning to unravel a bit.  So today during  her sister’s physical therapy appointment we will have a girl outing at B&N.  It has been awhile since we have done that!  A dinner of a comfort food favorite should help.  The aftermath of good, good friends/ visiting is setting in.  They are not here and we miss them! They are really good friends.

My chicken pot pie is traditional with maybe one twist.  I add tarragon. The hint of the herb adds that special flavor to the dish going from ordinary to WOW! I don’t skimp on the butter either and use Julia Childs’ recipe for the butter flaky crust.  Double WOW!

Old farmhouses have lots of hideaways! This one is dubbed “The Avocado”.

Chicken Pot Pie, salad and ice cream

spaghetti, salad french bread

Wednesday dinner at church

Grilled steak, baked potato and as usual salad but dressed up a bit with toppings of almonds, cranraisins and croutons

Tacos, refried beans, Spanish rice

Love Bug and I will be gone all day at a Girls Scout event so everyone is on their own!

Sunday  A whole family day!  Will’s work schedule has changed so we have him with us for the day!  Food, fellowship, and football!

Sliced grilled sirloin, Grandpa’s hash brown casserole, brocoli, more salad! french bread

Included because Love Princess and Sweet Pea are cute! Don’t you agree?

Blessings, Linda

I am participating in “On the Menu Monday” at StoneGable.

About chinamom3078

I am a woman who loves Jesus who loved me first. Prone to wander and distraction is common for me as I seek to reflect Him in my daily life. I am wife, mom, and grandma who has lived on 3 continents in 26+ apartments, townhouses, military housing, suburbs and now a 200 plus year old farm house. Preparing and hosting meals for the hundreds who have passsed through our home has been a joy and blessing to our family as we listened and shared over meals, coffee, light nights and Bible studies. A rich life! I have reached the age to feel qualifies to be an ”older woman” (as in Titus) even though I feel far from old and have plenty of room to grow each and everyday. And my joy is to teach Bible studies and help train other women to lead well.
