Birthday from the Past

9th B'day #1

Birthday parties for 9 year olds are still events highly anticipated.  This one isn’t fancy. But we sure had fun getting ready and even more fun at the party.

When you live where options and money are limited like we have in past years, you learn to be extra creative.  A full craft stash is a must! My cuties did most of the creative work after I laid out different items for them to use.  Instead of place cards,  sticky foam letters on the glasses coordinated with striped straws.

White dishes

are basic to any china cabinet.  My momma taught me that!

She and her friends would borrow each others’ when they had a dinner party and not enough white plates! Somehow those plates never broke or chipped!

Plain clear glasses

can be decorated in all sorts of ways.  Only a cutie could think of sticky foam letters with matching straws!

Another item from our craft stash was the

primary colored foam “buttons” .

Gerber Daisies

Flowers can be found at local markets all around the world;

simple vases

About chinamom3078

I am a woman who loves Jesus who loved me first. Prone to wander and distraction is common for me as I seek to reflect Him in my daily life. I am wife, mom, and grandma who has lived on 3 continents in 26+ apartments, townhouses, military housing, suburbs and now a 200 plus year old farm house. Preparing and hosting meals for the hundreds who have passsed through our home has been a joy and blessing to our family as we listened and shared over meals, coffee, light nights and Bible studies. A rich life! I have reached the age to feel qualifies to be an ”older woman” (as in Titus) even though I feel far from old and have plenty of room to grow each and everyday. And my joy is to teach Bible studies and help train other women to lead well.
