Date Night

Last Friday night was a highly anticipated event for my husband and I …

DATE NIGHT.

This was our first date night since our daughter was born. We bought tickets to a play at one of the local colleges the week before, we arranged for babysitting and we waited.

Friday morning dawned crisp and bright. All day anticipation grew …

what would I wear?…

what should I make for dinner?
(we later decided dinner out would be more fun)…

Just before it was time for my sweetheart to return home I laid out my clothes and paused for a moment to fed our baby.

I was up in the nursery when my sweetheart returned home. He stepped into the room with a mischievous grin and his hands behind his back …
he brought me a corsage. Isn’t it gorgeous?

What a wonderful start to a fun evening.

We dropped our sweet pea off at Grandma and Grandpa’s house then rushed to the restaurant. It is difficult to get a table here on a Friday night, but we managed to slip in and enjoyed a wonderful meal.

We saw The Pirates of Penzance. My husband was a bit apprehensive about attending a “comic opera”. He didn’t need to worry though, it was hilarious.

My younger (unmarried) siblings think married people shouldn’t date. How wrong they are… I get more of a thrill now from going out on a date with my husband than I ever did before we got married. Each day I fall more in love with him; my prayer is that this will always be so.

Aren’t date nights incredible?

About chinamom3078

I am a woman who loves Jesus who loved me first. Prone to wander and distraction is common for me as I seek to reflect Him in my daily life. I am wife, mom, and grandma who has lived on 3 continents in 26+ apartments, townhouses, military housing, suburbs and now a 200 plus year old farm house. Preparing and hosting meals for the hundreds who have passsed through our home has been a joy and blessing to our family as we listened and shared over meals, coffee, light nights and Bible studies. A rich life! I have reached the age to feel qualifies to be an ”older woman” (as in Titus) even though I feel far from old and have plenty of room to grow each and everyday. And my joy is to teach Bible studies and help train other women to lead well.
